Features

• The Contractor Trailers are offered with 2 body options; either the full bathtub monocoque which is just incredibly strong (please take the time to view the fabrication technique behind this) or the robust mono lift-off side which is 3 times stronger than a hinged side and nearly as strong as the bathtub monocoque. The sides can be removed easily with the front-end loader, then the trailer becomes a useful flatbed asset around the farm for carting bales and all day-to-day farm jobs. It also makes it very easy to fit the grain or silage bin.
• The CT14 has a fast-tipping body, using a good proven Italian multi staged ram that give 60° tip with minimum oil usage (competitors often use twin rams that may use all the oil in a CVT tractor transmission which is not ideal). Fitted with ¾” hydraulic hose for high-speed flow essential in civil jobs.
• A body width variation option – base width starts with a 2.50m sheet that will give a trailer outside width of 2.55m. The maximum we go to is 3.1m but generally sit at 2.8m outside width which is awesome for lowering the center of gravity but still allows for good maneuverability.
• A full RHS chassis that works on rigidity and the box section takes care of any torsional load that heavy duty walking beam tandem axle hasn’t absorbed from its optimum oscillation on a continuous Ø75mm high tensile pin with 4 x 200mm easy grease-able bushes (with helical grease tracking) centrally fitted for easy greasing on the chassis. The central lube on the chassis uses a ¼’’ hydraulic pipe.
• Corten non-rust 350G grade steel is used in the body as it is high wearing and strong then we go to a G450 wear plate right up to 10mm thick.
• Our Contractor Trailers are fitted with a permanent headboard that is fully welded into the top deck, fitted extension rails have a heavy mesh that allows the operator to see what’s going on (especially favored with silage bins fitted) but stop the load ending up in the cab.
• A single beam drawbar member gives high strength and maximum turning circle with spring drawbars fitted as option with 2 coils. This simple NZ made option has been offered for 25 years and is often sold to imported competitors’ machines when their system fails.
• A heavy-duty deck design that sits ‘inside’ the top deck skeletal, this means the floor sheet sits directly on the all-floor members & cross bearers eliminating the wave that truck decks get after time. This design takes longer to build but provides a stronger floor, ideal when moving a heavy excavator or if dropping boulders in.
• All Farmec Contractor Trailers are ready to take both grain & silage kit options for customers wishing to use the trailer for the harvest periods. Available as a one-piece lift-off kit or individual bolt-together panels. It comes with a mesh window at the front that folds (optionally) down and our awesome hydraulic up and over rear silage door, fitted with a mesh strip positioned centrally for air removal and assisting with reversing when empty.
