This feeder fitted with the unique rota shredders on each side, that turn 25% faster than the bale, will tease through a tight lucerne bale, making a well-presented aerated row ideal for sheep and deer alike. This Feeder is built for strength and durability – and is still popular due to its symmetrical design. It is very easy to operate with bi-directional feed so doesn’t matter which way round the bale goes. Fitted with self-loading forks that either go under the bale or that stab the bale (allows for easier wrap/net removal) on the HL model. An ideal feeder especially for soft tight bales, fitted with a massive American hydraulic drive motor ensuring the bale will always rotate and it will probably last the feeders lifetime.

Description

The model R2-2 has the rota shredder fitted to both sides which, due to its symmetry, allows to replicate a row density when bi-directional feeding of sheep or deer. The rotas are geared 25% higher, creating a teasing effect on the bale. This also reduces selective feeding and reduces waste, all driven by a huge 530cc American motor. With the half deep cradle holding the bale tight and rota shedder combination, this is by far our most popular model as it aggressively tears the product running 25% faster than the floor chain, creating a nice aerated uniform row – and of course still bi-directional if required. The robust and simple design, with features you are going to appreciate, guarantees low maintenance and using common components that are available both locally and via our extensive spare parts inventory. All that makes this the feeder of choice for farmers with any skill level of staff.

Features

  • Fitted with the unique rota shredder and a cleaning comb, this feeder offers aggressive action on tight bales. Fitted on the HL with a heavy mesh headboard with RHS frame keeps the product contained.
  • All the 2 bale trailing models are uniquely self-loading. The forks have been designed to ‘cradle’ the bale with the tines sliding under the bale allowing for easy removal of the wrap. Alternatively, the HL model has tines that stab the bale. The loading frame is mounted to a quality hydraulic cylinder which allows for all tractors to load heavy bales. The self-loading forks allow a second bale to be transported on the same load – hence a 2-Bale Trailing Feeder.
  • We have added a variable height tow-eye which ensures that the loading tines get the optimum angle under the bale, so the tractor drawbar height won’t matter.
  • The 2” pitch chain with welded RHS floor bar not only facilitates bi-directional feed, but it also allows for smooth running and a low torque requirement to drive. It also allows for feeding off either side, which is ideal on hilly country or for rota cut bales that fall to pieces. With 6,800lbs of break strength this chain has certainly proven its worth.
  • All drives consist of 40mm bearings and full-length shafts, whilst the fully welded chassis 125 x 75 x 5mm section RHS is the basis of the heavy-duty construction. The ‘A’ frame drawbar gives massive strength and ensures no cracking even after thousands of bales. Fitted with a 70mm jack stand for the operator to attach with (landing leg is optional).
  • A non-rust 1.6mm Corten 350G steel floor with 4 x rub bars complements the design. As do features such as 2 wire hoses, high torque American Parker hydraulic motor, large axle and floatation wheels.
